Why Jokes matter to me?

Why Jokes matter to me?

Laughter is a fundamental pillar of my life. I find peace in making people smile and laugh, whether that is through jokes or shenanigans. I feel satisfied about the fact that because of my actions - someone had a slightly less terrible day, someone was able to stop and breathe properly in this fast-paced world, take a moment, and laugh their stomach out.

Now and then, I remind myself that every person that I have ever seen, has their own life, their unique upbringing, thoughts, perspectives, problems, dreams, and aspirations.  Whether it's a poor farmer's kid looking to be successful and rich enough to support his family, or a kid from a privileged background, trying to grow out of his family’s shadow, they are all fighting a rough battle. There was a time when I wanted to help such people out but didn’t know how, but not anymore.

Listen to this while reading maybe.

I have realized that I am a person who finds it hard to display kindness directly, I find it cliché. So if you are having a bad day, and you talk to me about it, and I don’t give you the classic “It’s all going to be fine” speech, and start doing dumb stuff like narrating an awfully embarrassing anecdote about how I got slapped hard by a bulldozer of a cat, or go on a rant of self-deprecating jokes, that’s not me being selfish or rude, that is just me doing my best to make you laugh.

Because I believe no matter how bad the situation might be, as long as I can make people smile and laugh, it is all going to be okay.
